Why We Have Pick’em Rules
The Sleeper Pick’em Challenge gives every Castle Peak Crusaders owner another way to compete, talk shit, and win money without pretending they understood why their fantasy lineup failed.
The game is intentionally simple. Pick the winner of each NFL game. Do it before kickoff. Let Sleeper count the results.
The rules below exist mostly so nobody can claim in Week 12 that they thought point spreads were involved.
208.1 Participation
Participation in the Sleeper Pick’em Challenge is included with each franchise’s annual Castle Peak Crusaders dues.
No separate entry fee is required. Each franchise may submit one Pick’em entry unless the Commissioners announce otherwise before the season.
208.2 Platform
The Pick’em Challenge will be hosted on Sleeper unless the Commissioners designate another platform before the season.
Sleeper is the official record for submitted picks, weekly scores, season standings, and locking times.
208.3 Straight-Up Picks
Participants select the straight-up winner of each eligible NFL game.
- Point spreads are not used.
- Confidence points are not used.
- Margin of victory does not matter.
208.4 Pick Deadlines
Each pick locks at the scheduled kickoff of that game or at the locking time enforced by Sleeper.
Participants may change an unlocked pick until the platform closes it. Once locked, the pick is final.
208.5 Missed Picks
A game left unpicked receives whatever result Sleeper assigns—normally no credit.
The Commissioners are not required to enter late picks, accept screenshots, reconstruct intentions, or rescue somebody who forgot Thursday Night Football existed.
208.6 Weekly Results
The participant with the highest score for the week is the Weekly Winner.
Sleeper’s official scoring determines the weekly result. Tied weekly prizes are handled under CPC-205 — League Finances & Payouts.
208.7 Season Standings
The final Sleeper Pick’em standings determine the season Champion, Runner-Up, Third Place, and any other season awards listed in the annual payout schedule.
If Sleeper applies a platform tiebreaker to standings, the displayed final standings control unless the annual payout schedule specifically provides for a split prize. Cash ties remain governed by CPC-205.
208.8 Payouts
All Pick’em prizes are funded through the annual Castle Peak Crusaders buy-in and are governed by CPC-205 — League Finances & Payouts.
The exact season-long and weekly prize amounts will be published in the annual all-inclusive payout schedule.
208.9 Commissioner Administration
The Commissioners may correct clear platform or administrative errors when reliable evidence exists and the correction does not require guessing what someone intended.
Any interpretation needed to keep the competition moving may be made under the normal Castle Peak Crusaders governance process.
208.10 Historical Records
The League may maintain and publish Pick’em champions, podium finishes, weekly winners, payout history, and lifetime records on the official Castle Peak Crusaders website.
Published history is for bragging rights, accountability, and reminding people that yes, they really did lose to Randy that many times.
