League Finances & Payouts

Castle Peak Crusaders Governance Library · Version 1.1
“The money goes in. The money goes back out. Nobody gets cute.”

Why We Have Money Rules

Nobody joins a fantasy football league because they are excited about collecting dues. Unfortunately, trophies and payouts do not fund themselves.

These rules keep the money simple: every franchise pays the same amount, the annual dues fund both Fantasy Football and the Sleeper Pick’em Challenge, every dollar goes back to the League, and everybody knows what they are playing for before the season gets serious.

Pay on time. Win something. Make the Commissioners send the money back to you.

205.1 Annual Buy-In

The annual Castle Peak Crusaders buy-in is $250 per franchise.

The buy-in includes participation in both the Fantasy Football League and the Sleeper Pick’em Challenge. No separate Pick’em entry fee is required.

Any future change to the buy-in must be approved by the League.

205.2 Payment Deadline

The Commissioners will announce the payment deadline before each season.

Owners are expected to pay in full by that deadline using the payment method provided by the Commissioners.

205.3 Failure to Pay

An owner who has not paid by the announced deadline may lose keeper rights, draft participation, Pick’em participation, or the franchise itself.

The Commissioners will determine the appropriate action based on the circumstances. Nobody gets to play all season on an IOU.

205.4 Every Dollar Goes Back

One hundred percent of league dues must be returned to League members through approved Fantasy Football and Pick’em prizes.

League dues are not used for Commissioner fees, administrative expenses, or anything else. If the League ever wants to fund an extraordinary expense, that decision will be handled separately.

205.5 Annual All-Inclusive Payout Schedule

The annual payout schedule must account for the entire prize pool and identify every approved prize before the season begins. At minimum, it will include the following categories:

Fantasy FootballSleeper Pick’em
League ChampionSeason Champion
Runner-UpRunner-Up
Third Place and other approved awardsThird Place
Points, weekly, or other approved awardsWeekly Winners

The dollar amounts may change from season to season. The published annual payout schedule—not this policy—controls the exact allocation for that year.

205.6 Pick’em Payouts

Pick’em prizes are part of the same annual League payout schedule funded by the $250 franchise buy-in.

The schedule may include season-long prizes and weekly prizes. The current structure is published each season with the complete League payout schedule.

Pick’em game rules are governed by CPC-208 — Sleeper Pick’em Challenge.

205.7 Tied Prizes

If two or more franchises or Pick’em participants tie for a prize, the applicable payout will be divided equally among them.

No tiebreaker will be invented after the fact just to avoid splitting the money.

205.8 Collection and Distribution

The Commissioners are responsible for collecting dues, maintaining the season’s payment and payout records, and distributing prizes after final results are confirmed.

Owners are responsible for providing accurate payment information and responding when the Commissioners are trying to send them money.

205.9 Historical Payout Records

Annual payout schedules and final results will be retained as part of the Castle Peak Crusaders historical archive.

Historical schedules show what was paid in that season. They do not permanently lock future seasons into the same prize amounts.

One Last Thing...

Pay on time. Play both games. Win enough of something that we have to send the money back to you.
