Annual Draft

The rules for the best day of the year.

Governance Library • Version 1.2

“Championships aren’t won on Draft Day... but they can sure as hell be lost.”

Why We Have Draft Rules

Draft Day is the unofficial holiday of Castle Peak Crusaders.

Months of preparation, questionable predictions, and absolute confidence all come crashing together in a few short hours.

These rules keep the draft moving, keep it fair, and make sure everyone knows exactly how the next draft order was earned.

After that... you’re on your own.

203.1 Draft Format

The Annual Draft is linear. It is not a snake draft.

Every round follows the same order established under the rules below.

203.2 Picks 1–4: The Toilet Bowl

The four franchises that do not qualify for the Championship Playoffs compete in the Toilet Bowl.

The opening-round winners advance to the Pick #1 game. The winner of that game receives the 1st Overall Pick, and the loser receives the 2nd Overall Pick.

The opening-round losers play a separate placement game. The winner receives the 3rd Overall Pick, and the loser receives the 4th Overall Pick.

The Toilet Bowl exists to keep all four franchises competing through the postseason and make intentional losing a terrible strategy.

203.3 Picks 5–8: Regular-Season Standings

After removing the two Championship Game participants, Picks 5 through 8 are assigned to the remaining franchises in reverse order of the final regular-season standings.

Playoff advancement, the Third Place Game, and other placement games do not change Picks 5 through 8.

203.4 Picks 9–10: Championship Game

The Championship Game participants draft last.

The Championship Runner-Up receives the 9th Overall Pick. The League Champion receives the 10th Overall Pick.

203.5 Draft Clock

Each selection has 90 seconds.

If the timer expires, Sleeper makes the selection automatically and the draft keeps moving.

203.6 Keeper Integration

The Annual Draft begins with each franchise’s finalized keeper selections.

Keeper eligibility, costs, declaration deadlines, and procedures are governed by CPC-201 — Keeper Rules.

The Commissioners will finalize keeper selections and draft placement before Draft Day.

203.7 Draft Pick Trading

Draft picks may be traded until 48 hours before the Annual Draft begins.

Once Draft Day starts, draft pick trading is closed until the draft is complete.

203.8 Missed Picks

Owners are responsible for making their selections before the clock expires.

If time runs out, the platform makes the pick. The draft does not stop and the pick does not get redone.

203.9 Commissioner Authority

The Commissioners may pause the draft to resolve technical problems, correct administrative mistakes, or handle something nobody saw coming.

The goal is to keep the draft fair and moving—not turn every problem into a committee meeting.

One Last Thing...

Everybody walks into Draft Day convinced they built a championship roster. By Week 4, half of us are pretending we meant to draft somebody else.

Good luck. Don’t overthink the next pick.
